British Customs intelligence officer, Jim Sloan, a former handler of army agent Kevin Fulton, has been accused of a breach of the British Official Secrets Act. Sloan worked with other state agents from Royal Ulster Constabulary, Special Branch and M.I.5. Sloan was asked at a number of meetings by Sgt. G. I. Sterret, R.U.C., Special Branch, that a senior police informer from Newry, must be able to deliver containers to a target in Northern Ireland. The shipment was of duty-free cigarettes and drugs. The police informer ran a bogus firm called Rath Hill Trading. The informer was involved with a travel firm in Dundalk; this firm booked travel flights for the Irish Government, and was involved in a milk powder scam involving two Irish T.D.s in 1995. It is beleived they were targets for an approach from M.I.5. Now Special Branch and M.I.5 want to discredit Mr.Sloan in the event of Kevin Fulton going into Belfast High Court and calling him as a witness.
